[117] As I Move Along

Did I see you glowing, landing just near my side,

bringing me memories washed up like the tide

You, dancing that well-honed tune—

that couldn't help but fill the moon,

as white caps brightened the darkness that comes with night

Like your smile warming up every bit of the room—giving me sight

making me whole even when tears weighted my soul

Like the day you marked the earth, the today of yesterdays,

With many years passed, you then gave me my birth,

I from you, being unearthed to create my own worth,

never forgetting your beauty, your giving soul and tireless way,

as I peel sleep from my dreams, bringing my eyes into the day,

with you—now a whisper—keeping me strong, as I move along.
