The tree had fallen in the forest,
across the path
I was on
I lifted my feet
and drew my strength
in future me
I moved the fallen, just enough
and stepped through
with one foot
forward, forward, backward
and the other followed
forward, forward, backward
and my heart fills and fills,
and tears flow
and I see
the freedom to move
and knowing how.
