In the shadow, we lie awake—

It's when we blossom and plan our dreams,

or fall into sadness or deep madness,

as the ebbs and flows open gates,

and reveal a life we long await.

In the shadow, we find a place

that reveals a heart that beats and leans—

to seek a hand that never leaves

no matter the calling of humble needs.

In the shadow, we learn to love—

the life given to each of us.
